The bathroom is the perfect place to build your spa, because it already has the necessary elements in place:
Privacy, access to your beauty products, a tub for relaxing in and counter space for decorations.
1 - Candles - By adding a few (or several) candles, you can create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Arrange them around the tub and sink, and enjoy their soft, glowing light. Preferably use natural candles made out of bee wax, soya or natural products. They last longer and are healthier. Cheap candles contain lead and are hazardous for our health.
2-Water Feature - Find a spot for a water fountain, even a small one. The sound and movement of the running water will soothe you every time you turn it on.
3- Flower arrangements and plants -Arrange some lush plants in a corner and treat yourself to a nice bouquet with your favorite flowers.
4 - Fluffy Towels - Have some scrumptiously fluffy towels in your favorite color to dry off with after a warm bath.
5 - Essential Oils and Aromatherapy - Different scents make us feel different ways - some are relaxing, some perk us up, and some soothe us. You can use incense if you wish, or warm essential oils in a warmer made specifically for aromatherapy purposes. Choose scents that appeal to you, whatever you like, and whatever helps you feel less stressed and more positive.
Now your spa is ready for use. You can have a calming bath to wash the cares of the day away. Or take an hour or two for beauty.
Put that mud mask on your face and deep conditioner in your hair, exfoliate your feet and paint your toenails a sexy red or a demure blush pink. Sink into the tub with water that's the perfect temperature infused with your favorite bath salts. When you finish, wrap a warm towel around you and take some time to dry off, moisturize and return to the real world. You will feel better and probably look better, assuming you've washed the mudpack off your face!
Don't be surprised if you feel either very sleepy or ready to take on the world. Either is fine.
If you do yourself the favor of creating a spa in your own home, you will have the option to take some "Me" time, anytime. An atmosphere of peace, relaxation, and beauty can be as close as your own bathroom. Choose a time when you won't have constant interruptions and give yourself permission to actually take that time for yourself. Don't forget the Do Not Disturb sign to hang on the outside of the bathroom door! Enjoy.
